32-Gallon Bin

The 32-gallon wheeled bin is perfect for household food scraps and landscaping debris from small to medium sized yards. The 32 gallon bin holds around 65 lbs. of material and measures 19"W x 24"D x 37"H (smaller than the average size of a landfill bin).

64-Gallon Bin

The 64-gallon wheeled bin is perfect for household food scraps and landscaping debris from medium to large sized yards.  It also is a great size to share with neighbors! The 64 gallon bin holds 150 lbs. of material and measures 25"W x 32"D x 42"H (smaller than the average size of a landfill bin).

  1. Keep a compost caddy, bowl or container to collect in your kitchen - contribute food scraps. No liquids, please.

  2. Place your kitchen food scraps and yard debris into the outside compost receptacle, provided by Compost Crusader.

  3. Roll out your bin out to the curb night before scheduled service day.
    We start service by 7 am on your scheduled service day.

  4. Your food scraps head to a DNR-approved compost site and become nutrient-rich soil.

  5. Residents are responsible for the cleanliness of their bins while they participate in the composting program. If the bin is damaged or needs to be repaired, please contact Compost Crusader immediately.

  1. We deliver your starter pack and outside receptacle, and we schedule your regular service.

  2. Compost Crusader provides residents with an every other week pickup service with the opportunity to order additional pickups when needed

  3. We provide all residential customers with a participant account where they can log in to view their pickup schedule and diversion weights; report a missed pickup; and purchase bags and compost accessories.

  4. We haul your material to a DNR-approved compost site where it becomes nutrient rich soil.

  5. We offer all participants a discount to purchase the finished compost!

How to Collect Food Scraps at Home

Collecting your household food scraps is easy to do! You can customize an internal compost collection system that perfectly fits the needs of your household.

THE CADDY

A vessel for internal collection, such as a vented or stainless steel kitchen caddy, a 1-gallon ice cream tub, a 5-gallon pickle bucket or a large Tupperware container.

Use paper grocery bags or two-gallon paper liners to line your kitchen caddy

Use 30-gallon lawn and leaf paper bags to line your outside bin.
